The first time Pie Eye Collective appeared on Albert's Favourites was a collaboration on the Hector Plimmer album Next To Nothing. The two tracks released were just part of a series of sessions the two producers did together. And now we get the return. Flibbers grabs an increasingly familiar and dynamic sound that these two find when in a room together.

The music shows a darker side of the Pie Eye Collective sound, with chattering breakbeats hidden beneath disorienting electronics. The whole piece comes off like passing traffic, as if you were stood at the intersection of a multi-directional electric highway in the year 3000.

Pie Eye Collective is the solo project of sound scientist and explorer Matthew Gordon.

Pie Eye Collective, while at its heart electronica, creates an organic collage of influences and evocative noises, even drawing from jazz and soul music. Time signatures, sometimes hard to pin down, only lead to a more hypnotic sense of being afloat in a sea of harmonics and strangely familiar musical memories.

It is music that wants you to completely free yourself and let it roll over you.
